Hello everyone, I'm looking for a compact camera to keep with me for those "I wish I had a camera" moments. There are far too many "little 'uns" out there to keep proper track of, so would anyone like to suggest some to help me narrow my search? Owner/user gripes/neat features could be really helpful.

Things I must have:
- Full manual mode. (Edit: I can live without manual focus).
- Compactness. An A70 is too big & heavy for my pockets.

Things I'd like:
- Minimal shutter lag.
- Decent optics (image quailty wise, I'm not too bothered about having lots of optical zoom).
- Silent operation i.e. no sound clip shutter noises ;-)
- A flip-out-and-twist LCD (I know this conflicts with the compactness requirement above...).

Thanks in advance,
John.

Yeah, I was going to suggest the 450, but not if you want the vari-angled lcd. Which, btw, is a great perk. Maybe the 600 series if you want that lcd. But I don't know which 600's have it. Just check the Canon website. I have the S2IS (not a pocket camera) and the swivel screen has helped big time.
