A wee bit too far to go and watch bumper cars for me.

The locals are a bit strange too. Strangely enough Deliverance was on TV last night..hmmm

<ducks and runs for cover>

I'm going. First ever trip shooting a motor race (absolute beginner) and my first ever trip watching motor racing!

Going for the two days so hopefully I'll have time to at least watch one of the races without one eye in my viewfinder.

Be prepared for some mega sized crowds at Thruxton if you go for the BTCC Race Day.

I'll be at Brands Hatch for the HSCC, also note this is on the GP Circuit too...:p

yup I hated the crowds at thruxton in '04

Brands looks more "up my street" , i've wanted to try some of the gp loop around stirlinf & sheene after seeing some of the :cool: different shot you guys posted.

BTCC has been pulling pretty big crowds for as long as I can remember, I don't think it'll change!

Yeah is the place to be! Stirlings is beatuifully cambered and Sheene is pretty high speed, potential for some grasscutting action, as well as some top notch spectating. The rest of the GP Loop is great for spectating, but not fantastic for shooting cars, you can get some good angles coming out of Westfield and up the hill towards Sheene I think....

will saturday be better for photo taking? I have a two day ticket with a grandstand seat for Sunday, and want to spend plenty of time taking photos with as little distraction as possible.

and can anyone help with locations for shooting?

Can't help with locations as i don't know Thruxton, but BTCC qualifying days are always better for shooting from our side of the fence as it tends to be a bit quieter.

Bear in mind that there might not be quite as many chances for multi-car shots of the BTCC boys but you can experiment a bit more with angles and there's always the Porsche & Clio cup races to play with too :)
