Does anyone know if there is a UK retailer with stock?

Thanks
Nigel

http://froogle.google.co.uk/froogle?q=canon+g6&btnG=Search+Froogle

...froogle is the 'shopping search' section of google (for UK). I just did the above search and it displayed a few results. One shop is below. You may want to look at the above link first though and see all the prices available to see if anything comes up cheaper and is in stock...

http://www.xfast.co.uk/index.php?mod=catalogue&func=view&productID=G6&catalogue_key=BM

...with this second link I added the G6 to my 'shopping basket' online, so it seems it is in stock. Hope that helps a little. I dont live in UK so do not know any other way to shop there other than via Internet : ))

p,s. i dont work for Froogle incase you are wondering. erm, or Google. It is just handy at times to compare prices...

Hmmmm, it's pretty unlikely that there are any left in stock anywhere. I looked around for one earlier this year - they were still advertised on the Apple website, I ordered one but got a "no stock" email through a couple of days later . I got mine on eBay in the end, if you're patient it is a good place to buy...

There is one on there at the moment, item number 7623353896.

Cheers,

Paul.

p.s I don't work for eBay ;)

I got mine secondhand on e bay. I presume you like the idea of a compact that takes your dslr flashguns, CF cards and maybe shares same battery (20D does anyway). Thats why I opted for it; shame the new compacts only seem to have the built in flash though you can get add on slave units.

Thanks, I guess it will be ebay then. I am considering one as a climbing/trekking camera. As I have a 5D, the CF cards and batteries are interchangeable, and I could use my 430EX. I already have an S70, which had the same realtionship to my (former) 350d, but of course the battery is different now, and no hotshoe flash, and I have been less impressed by the lens quality.

Thanks again

Good luck, Nigel, hope you find a good one. You should, I get a lot of electronics from eBay (and of course my G6) and find as long as you make sure the seller has a good reputation, you can't go far wrong.

Paul.
