I have only had a DSLR for about a month now, Canon 350d got it from jessops withe kit lens 18mm 55mm i also purchased the ef 75-300mmf/4-5.6III usm
this was taken with the 75-300mm on a tripod I had entered this in a comp about weather, but it seems sunsets are what people like. I like this one it made me think a bit more about the shot as aposed "there goes the sun click!"
please comment.....

Very nice :) I see a macro lens in your future - the Canon 100mm is very nice and will let you get a lot closer and capture more detail :)

I agree - this shot really works - even though there is grass in the whole shot, there isn't so much it's all distracting - the eye is drawn through the shot, and the depth of field is just right.

There's an overcast 'feel' to this pic that you don't often see in 'after the rain' photos (usually people wait until the sun comes out and the clouds clear and the photo ends up bright) - I think this photo works VERY well...
