I am going to take a picture of my "balls" using a different order of the balls. I just know I can show them off better.

Very, very nice.
Must of had a ball making that shot. :)
Perhaps a bit of white balance to correct the colour shift, or did you want the warm glow?
How about a 'break' shot?

stopbath~~Hello :)
This picture is sooooo hard for me to get dead perfect. Any light source in the room reflects on each ball (like a mirror). Grrrr ...any ideas how to tackle this? I used a candlelight for this photo. I am trying to balance more light w/out a lot of highlights. Tomorrow I start work on some Halloween pictures (Spooky) *LOL*
Thank you!

I'm sooo dissapointed in you. Only doing things halfway. I immediately noticed the trouble you went to in order to line the balls up in numerical order but then near the end it looks like you stopped. Why?
Great photograph...Looks like one you could sell to billiard halls for them to put on the wall.

Well..., you could say there is a philosophical message in it.
Order to Chaos, Chaos to Order.
Whichever way you prefer to look at it...

You're trying to light the balls without a lot of glare?
Do you have any white bed sheets kicking about? String these up and use them as a filter to your lights. You might even be able to make a tent out of them (clothspins and string...). Using a sheet might allow you to cast a glow on the balls.
This is clumsy, but without buying or renting softboxes, it should help get the shot.
Don't forget to white balance to get the white of the balls.
If this doesn't work, ther is a last option of spraying the balls with a product that reduces the glare. Photographer stores carry the can, and it's used to dullen surfaces and reduce glare. I've never used it, so I don't know who easy or hard it is to remove from your subject after the shot. It should be harmless, but test first on one.
Good luck with Hallow's eve shots.

I like the burnished colors and tinted whites. Nostalgic of late nights, smoke filled halls and the blues. Each ball has it's story to tell...

Nice shot - good colour and pattern.
I have a suggestion - what about making 1 ball stand out (probably one on the thirds).
Try making the colour one that isn't in a normal pool set, or giving it a higher number. Maybe take a photo of a tennis ball or a soccer ball and drop it in place of one of the existing balls.
This might make an even more interesting picture (or a complete balls up!, sorry couldn't resist)
