I like the last one the best. Faces always help make a photo. Not that the girls with butts in photos is going to get many complaints though.
one thing you might want to try is shoot on manual. Meter your hand under the same light. It will help towards keeping a balanced exposure. If you use TV or AV, your sensor will get all messed up with the light colors and dark colors.

Nice photos... I grew up about 15 minutes from Wrightsville Beach. I spent a lot of days there and Friday and Saturday nights thoughout my adolecent years.

I like em too, the 3rd and 4th ones may be a tad overexposed for my tastes.

thank you all for the kind comments.
Grego -- tried to get faces in all, at least profiles. Lots of deleted shots with just the backs of peoples heads. These were all shot with spot-metering, all shot at a close angle to the sun, but small changes in the angle into the sun made for big changes in the exposure needed to get skin exposed to mid-tone. Don't think M would have worked well.
Nidz -- 300 f4.
Forkball -- we live in carrboro (near chapel hill) and drive 2-1/2 hours to the beach. The NC beaches are great, why'd you ever leave?

Ah... because I'm a native New Englander... I moved down there at the age of 12 with my family, and moved back to New England at 19 with my family. It was a money thing. There was just more of it in New England. We were going broke down there. My dad was a car salesman and I was rebuilding transmissions for $4.50 per hour fresh out of high school. Wilmington is pretty crazy now from what I hear with the movie studio being there and all. I do miss the NC beaches though.

Nice shots. Heading to Topsail in a few weeks, but I don't think you will catch me on a board. Those are definitely better looking models than the ones we usually see at the beach.
