I just picked up my second 10D, and I have concerns about confusion arising from duplicate file names.
How do those of you with two or more cameras differentiate between them in your file naming?
Thanks

I keep lots of different file folders to keep those dupes from fighting each other. You could also do a batch rename with an added ID to differentiate each cameras images.

First, use the setting, continuous. This way, the file numbers will not be duplicated even if you were to download different pictures in the same folder.
Second, you do not need to create a different folder every time you take pictures. But if you have a main event in which you take hundres of pics, you can create a folder indicative of that event. Within that folder, downloading may create subfolders like 100canon, 101canon, etc. Even if you were to download different pics in the same folder, say 100Canon, continuous file name ensures that earlier pics are not erased. That 100canon subfolder can store up to 10,000 pics. Is that enough?
