Check Fred Miranda's Buy and Sell forum. They have good deals there.

I agree with Liza. There's no reason to use Ebay when you have a place like FM.

90% of the stuff I see on ebay can be found cheaper new/retail. I just don't get it. Maybe it is what I have been looking for but I'm just about done even looking at ebay.

Well if they really have good feedback i don't see the problem. However, if it's a big ticket item (>1K) I'd buy it from someone reputable like Norman Camera, B&H, Beach, etc...

I took a chance a couple of times and lucked out... but i've heard war stories.

I've used FM and eBay with very good results and significant savings over retail. When using eBay, be very patient and develop a good email trail with the seller before bidding.....never 'impulse' buy on eBay. I've found the opposite to be the case on FM.....quality deals are gone in minutes and you have do your reseach on the item you want (i.e. the highest price you are willing to pay, acceptable age etc.) and then be prepared to act quickly when it appears for sale. Perhaps I'm naive, but photographers seem to be a pretty honest group of people.

I recently bought a 24-70L from a Canadian retail store that sells on ebay.ca as well. I got a really good deal and 6 month warranty on a used lens. Sometimes you have to really look for the deals.

I agree that the fred miranda buy/sell forum is a great option as well. I've purchased from there and have no complaints.
Try this forum's Buy&Sell too. :)
