Hi All,

I had a very frustrating day at Silverstone on Sunday, my first visit to the track and found nowhere to get a clear shot of the track with no safety fence. This is the best I could do where I could stand close enough to the fence and manual focus on the point where the bike was thus throwing the fence OOF enough, although you can see the fence very faintly on the image:cry: .

Roll on Sunday at Mallory for BSB

James Toseland had a fantastic day with podium finishes in both races, he's a bit of a hero of mine and I always try to get some decent images of him.

Regards

Rob

Nice attempt. Silverstone can be a pain sometimes with it's high fences and lack of angles. There are spots where you can get a clear shot if you know where to look though.

There's a trick to getting through fences. Get the end of your lens as close to the fence as you can, use a long focal length (at least 300mm) and open the aperture up as wide as it will go... if you'd gone to f/5.6 rather than f/11 you would have been able to AF through that fence and not seen it in the images.

I think that's an awesome shot... well done.
