what body are you using? looks like you had some focusing problems on some of these shots...

also, a tighter crop would make these photos a bit better. It's tough with motorsports, and especially with drifting, but the end result is worth it.

Quick shots for ya to compare:

300D with this lens: http://www.shop.com/op/~Quantaray_55_200mm_F_4_5_6_Digital_Series_DC_AF_Z oom_Lens_for_Canon_Save_$40_with_our_New_Low_Price !-prod-9288564

I HAD a Sigma 70-200 but I sold it for something wider. I had this crappy lens kicking around so I had to make due with what equipment I had, right? This was my 1st time shooting a drift too, and I learned these guys can be a bit unpredictable!

I'd say they are a bit OOF, but that could be remedied by starting at yoru shutter speed at 1/250 (or so) practicing, and dropping it lower as your proficiency improves. I'm a fan of tighter crops, but I think your images give some room to convey action. The final image is the best in my opinion.

Not bad for a 1st timer with a $100 lens :)

cool shots. I shot the same group (driftfaction) at Lime Rock earlier in the year. you can see some of mine on my site www.leded.com

a slightly tighter crop would be good but still leave a little space infront for the car to drift into. Its this space that makes the last shot jump out as being the better of the series. but yeah pretty good for a cheap lens.

Erik thanks man, I think most of the day I was around 1/80th for shutter...guess I could have sped that one up a tad!
