I hope some of you can provide, for those with thick brain cells like me, some pointer about the right memory media to use in 10D/D-Rebel. I want something that would allow me to take ~300 shots at a time with reasonable reliability. Thanks in advance for your time and help.

Get 1GB Compact Flash card. You will not worry about whether you have enough space while you are taking pics.

Depends on the resolution setting of your camera. I have a 512 Sandisk and shoot on "large normal" and I get over 300 shots. When I shoot "large fine", I get about 200 shots. Any setting less than these should allow you ample room.

If you're shooting in the "Raw" mode, better heed to what lightandlife suggested.

Good luck

Bradley

I recommend two cards instewad of one due to the fact if anything bad happens you only lost half of your pictures. I've purchased lexar & simpletech and both does well.

You may also consider 2.2G/2.4G microdrive by Magicstor. Around US$250.

Thank you for your replies. I plan to capture the image at the RAW or highest JPG quality, and therefore was looking at the 1GB CF cards. My friend uses an IBM Microdrive, but I read that the CF card has better write/read performance. Beside, being a solid state device, CF is less fragile than Microdrive. I did not want put "all of the eggs in one basket" by using the 2GB media. Thus, my concern was about brand reliability and would like to hear about what you use and your experience in the real world.
Again, thank you all for the valuable inputs that you provided.

Alan
