I am going to be in Washington DC for about 3 days starting 10 Jun. Will have some free time Sat pm and Sunday, and will be in and around the Mall for a few hours

Any local POTN members got any good tips for places to go (and to photograph) outside the obvious tourist sites? I want to try and get to the Vitetnam and Lincoln memorials at least and will be going to Arlington on Sun morning anyway.

Any good camera shops around? Will be staying in Crystal City....

Ta! ;)

Don't forget the National Zoo, it's only metro stops away from Crystal City.

Penn Camera is right downtown DC..

Georgetown or Old Town Alexandria are both full of (our version of) historic buildings. From Georgetown you can also walk along the C&O Canal towpath.

Penn Camera (http://www.penncamera.com/locations/) is the best local store.

I really like the Rosevelt memorial. Lots of shots around the Potomic.
