Just a few snaps of gulls to test the camera's AI Servo mode. Works very well!
50mm lens with polarizer, 1/250s (I kept a bit of blur in the wings, but their heads are in good focus), ISO 400, f13 and f14 respectively:

Processed with C1-LE, then did some noise reduction, resizing for web and final sharpening in PS.

Hi Frank. It was set to all 7 points, though I started tracking in the center.

Most excellent pictures! The blur in the wings give them the sense of motion...really nice!

A followup comment for Frank regarding the first pic: If I remember correctly, I was holding the camera vertically while tracking the lower bird, hoping to get more than one in the shot. When the second (upper) one was in frame, I snapped. At that point I wasn't really paying much attention to where the birds were relative to the AF points. Just a lucky coincidence that they lined up as they did at the focal plane. In other words, the camera did it's job well (tracking the first bird) and I came away with an okay shot. :)
