Here I sit at my computer with a tracking# for a Canon 28-70 2.8 lens, 420 EX Flash, & Battery Grip.
Purchased at King Street Photo Charlotte NC, all started well, but after a mounth still no 10D Body.
After the retailor credited my Amex for the body a fellow Canon Forum Member listed his 10D body FS,purchased it & amazingly his wife supposedly dropped it,(really sounds like he got a better offer).
Have tried the NY & Brooklyn Boys- a real joke.
Digitalliquidators, Royal Camera ETC.
Royal list the BODY ONLY- $979.00, no cables no battery no charger no software (all of this is packed by Canon in box) they just remove it- once you add all these there is a $20.00 savings between GREY MARKET & USA.
When you take the time to talk with them they actually laugh about it, I just said NO THANKS & hung up.
MOST DEALERS SAY THERE WILL BE PLENTY OF INVENTORY mid OCT.
Best Buy is another trip, the will not match CompUSA online price of 1349.00- only wanted to purchase there to use a 300.00 Money card. There District Managers DO NOT return a call & never are in to talk to.Any Mint Reasonably Priced 10D bodies for sale? Andrew

Contact Dell. Ask for 10% off, free shipping, and it will be about CompUSA price. You may also use a coupon, and another thread has the info.

You can't go wrong with either of these dealers. They both have it in stock. Good support and service.

I've kinda been in the same boat. I see all of these deals and they all seem to fall through. Even with a good deal at DELL, they have none in stock (as of last weekend)....so here's what I did.

I called GATEWAY...yep, the other big PC maker. They do not have the 10D on their web site, but it can be had. I first spoke to GATEWAY sales last Saturday night to see if they had them as reported by others on DPREVIEW. At first the sales person said they did not stock them. I repeated it was the EOS 10D and finally he found it in their system.

They are $1499.

As of Saturday they were IN STOCK.

GATEWAY has a 10% off digital cameras now and free shipping.

Yesterday, my new 10D arrived at the house, $1349 shipped.

Now I just need to actually read the manual!

This is one of those rare occasions that you may be able to buy from Canada at a better price. You can check with either one of the folliwngs stores (I visit both stores regularely):

Those Canadian prices are still a bit too high, the first converts to $1599 USD and the second converts to $1629 USD.

I live in Long Island and there is a very very good local camera store that is wonderful to deal with. It is called Cameta Camera. They are in Amityville, Long Island. You can get their phone number off their website at www.cameta.com

I bought my 10D there for 1499 (which is what everyone reputable sells it for) and a Tamron 28mm - 200mm XR lens from. They also buy and sell used equipment. If you need any other info, I would be glad to help out. email me at joedawn2001@yahoo.com
