Need it quick for Lightning shots

Can't figure out how to set 30 second exposure so I can try to capture lightnign for incoming storm. Help please. Have my tripod. Tamron 11-18 and ready to go....:(

ARGHHHH! Got the bulb thing going but can't figure out the blasted timer hellllllp

By timer do you mean the self timer? If you do mean that, hit the drive button on the top panel and rotate the shutter dial until you see the timer icon on the display.
