Hi!
I'm in need of a new flash. I'll be photographing mostly weddings and was wondering which of these two flahes would work best with my Rebel.
Thanks!
N.

I hope you don't think those are the only two choices.
Look here. (http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=123694)
They all perform up to their specifications. The manufacturers' web sites will give you most of the info you need.
Was there any certain feature you were looking for?

I just bought a 580EX and am very pleased with it thus far. My images look so much better now!

I also have the 580EX and it continues to amaze me with its ability to 'reach out and touch someone' at quite a distance...

You'll need to budget about US$7-$10K to get enough gear to do a wedding properly, including two bodies (20D/30D), two flashes (get at least one 580EX, then pref a 580 or 550 for the power), wide lens (10-22/12/24), standard lens (24-70/17-55), long lens (70-200 IS). Then you might want studio lighting, which definitely comes in handy from time to time. I also do a portable studio type setup, with wireless ETTL, you just need an umbrella and a light stand or tripod mount.

I have 580EX, it is more than enough for me, the best "Canon" flash overthere.

430 or the 550 at the most with that Rebel. Keep roaming the Classified section and you'll find one for a good price.

Oh - if you want to shoot weddings you'll need a 20D or better, the old rebel is just too slow.
