I took this shot of my wife as we were walking on the beach around 7:00am. We had a day away from the kids (thank you in-laws) and decided to make the most of it. We had a great time and I just wanted to capture some memories for us. I have done a little PP work on this to bring out more of the blue color of the water, but other than that it is pretty much how it was taken.

I have always liked the footsteps in the sand shots, so I thought I would give it a try myself.

Let me know how I should improve it. And yes I know the horizon isn't level, but neither was the contour of the beach.

BTW: This was taken at Lake Michigan in South Haven on Memorial Day if anyone is interested.

Thanks in advance,
Travis

I would find it much more stimulating if her footsteps were the only ones, however I know you couldn't control that.

Maybe photoshop out the people further up on the beach. They're so small that it'd be easy. Possibly attempt to get rid of that house too. It'd make a great shot.

All in all, I'd be glad to have taken it as is.

Scraggles, thanks for the comments and critique. You are right, there wasn't a lot that I could do about the other footsteps, but I did do a real quick re-edit to clone out the parts you suggested. As I was uploading the file I knew that I should have done that in the first place. But thanks for reassuring me.

Here is the cloned out re-edit...

Thanks again Scraggles.

Like I said. As it was uploading I knew that I should have done that in the first place.

I told my wife next time we are able to get away like that, I want to go to a less traveled beach. Not just for the photo-ops either:D :) ;) . If you know what I mean.

I didnt notice the footprints until you pointed them out. And the image is crooked - even the woman is leaning to the left. The portrain orientation of this shot bothers me some - it just doesn't seem right.
