Hi all,
Trying to decide between the 2, kinda leaning towards 24-105/4 (due to FF) although if I do this I probably have to get 10-22 as well at a later stage.

I love bokeh. Can anyone comment which lens will give better bokeh or have samples of bokeh from these 2 lenses? I know that at the same focal length and subject distance f2.8 will always give better bokeh than f4 but want to know if the bokeh from 24-105/4 would be good enough.

Thanks.

You leave a bit out here. You mention FF...but only one of these lenses will even work on FF. Bokeh is pretty subjective and given the right circumstances, most quality lenses will produce nice bokeh, although the faster lens will have an advantage in most cases.

Sorry I was being unclear...it's me that is still undecided.

I am using 30D at the moment but am hoping to upgrade to FF when it becomes more affordable. Actually would be happy with 1.3 crop but 1D is out of the budget at the moment and I don't think there will be anymore 1.3 crop in the future.

I only have Sigma 30/1.4 and EF 85/1.8 at the moment (and they give me beautiful bokeh that I never had with my S50). Where I live, it is pretty difficult to sell 2nd hand lens so I try to limit getting another DC/EFS only lens unless necessary. If I do get EFS 17-55/2.8 then I would pretty much stick with my 30D for sometime.

EF lenses would allow me more options re: slr upgrade in the future.

You could always sell your lenses online. You don't have to sell locally. Fredmiranda.com has a great buy/sell forum as does this very website. Plus there's always eBay.
