Ok, we've all hit the shutter when we didn't mean to, and some of us have gotten some pretty interesting shots because of it! Let's see some of your "greatest mistakes"!
This, I like. I was actually waiting for this little girl to come by while I was waiting for my clothes in the dryer at the laundromat, because she was just the cutest thing ever (next to Dante's daughter), and I was gonna chance a shot from my lap (camera on my leg). Well, this is what happened. I had to straighten it, but I kinda like it, as far as "perspective" goes.

hmm.. okay, so help me out here.. you want a shot that you didn't mean to take?... or just a total failure that had the potential to be a nice capture...??

LOL...I didn't mean to make this so difficult! I would personally prefer to see ones you didn't mean to take, but when you chimped it, it actually looked like it could be something nice! I don't wanna see your throwouts...:p

When I first saw it, I couldn't get past the belief that everything with this shot went horribly, horribly wrong:

The guitarist in the shot absolutely loves it. His fans absolutely love it.
Now, I kinda' dig it, too.
And I came sooooooooo close to trashin' it...

Unfortunately, the photo was taken outside the contest dates, so it wasn't eligible. I had to find another shot for the abstract contest.

Green Day press conference, Sydney, Australia. I totally overexposed the shot, when I forgot to re-set my ISO after shooting inside. Was going to trash it, until I decided that I liked it more (artistically) than the rest of my photos from the session.

Neat thread! I took this when I was first learning how to shoot in Manual mode. I forgot to change the shutter speed, but I kind of like the way it came out.

Okay; here's one...
Taking pix of Fireworks at Sea World in San Diego, all shots were on a tripod with wireless cable release. I have NO idea how I got this pic:

It creeps me out every time I see it..

I have always loved the serendipity of accidental shots, I mean, be honest now, how many of our favorite photos don't have a large portion of luck mixed in the batch? Here is a case where the flash failed to fire, so the camera gave me a very long exposure (½ sec, f19). There was enough data in the RAW to let me squeeze this out, and I really like it. I have been trying other long exposure, non stabilized shots, but nothing I want to share yet.
He is a vendor at an open air flower market. I didn't feel like ANOTHER flower pic, so I was getting people. I do wish I had more of the left side of his face, but I don't. None the less, not at all too shabby?

I hate clowns god, I truly honestly hate clowns.. card tricks, those cans where you open them up and fake snakes pop out, the fake colored snot, but.. worse than clowns I hate mimes.. yep, I actually feel that if you are a mime you deserve to get kicked somewhere indecent where you will have to hop around 'miming' pain.. and, if you actually utter one word while doing the hopping miming pain thing we should get to kick ya again.... okay, that was mean.. oh well..

LOLOLOL I can just see Sari... ok MIME, one peep and you get it again!
I know I've heard that clowns are one of the things that a lot of people are afraid of, but I've never felt that way. I had a stuffed clown that my grandpa gave me when I was about 4 that I hauled around with me for years. In fact he's sitting on my bookshelf right now! Want me to post a picture? *evil grin*
