Just did a practice shoot for a friend. Only light we had was inside and 80% of the shots came out blurred.

I always think that 'mood lightening' is nice, but you really do need decent strong lighting to acheive a nice crisp picture - especially of a moving baby.

I love how each time I pick up the camera I learn something new :)

Get a good flash. It works wonders. :)

That is the next item on the list. Hopefully a 580EX

If you can't swing the 580EX, the 430EX is a good, affordable alternative. So is the Sigma 500, according to many on this forum.
