Hi All,
I am new to this forum ..and to the new s2 I got yesterday. I bought this camera because I always heard Canon was a great camera. My goal is to take pics of my flower garden (also new:) ) and also of the birds in the yard. The few I have taken have been blurred. I know I have learn to use the camera, does anyone have any tips? Some of the pictures taken of flowers that I have seen on the web are wondefully clear, and I want to achieve this as well.

What settings did you use when you took your blurred pictures??

Are you holding the camera still? What settings? Maybe post a picture with exif info. I'm sure someone will help.

I uses a few different modes, outdoor and folage. the pics I took with the auto setting were very nice for just shots of the house, and outside.

Welcome to the forums. You'll be delighted with what the S2 can do with flower and bird shots, but you're right -- you'll need to try a few things out and learn what works best for you. Are your "blurry" shots caused by being out of focus, or motion? If your flower shots are blurry, you may be slightly too close to them for a good focus. (Using the "macro" focus may be called for, but that has it's own set of frustrations until you get the hang of it.) For now, I'll just suggest being patient, and wait for the camera to signal that it's found focus (green rectangle in the viewfinder), don't get too close to your flowers, and gently squeeze the shutter to avoid movement. Of course, you'll get better results in good light, which allows faster shutter speeds and smaller apertures -- both of which help to make sharper photos. And have fun!
