Well I went home last weekend and my sis was in the end of year ballet for her dance class. I didn' really expect to take any pics of it but brought my Rebel XT anyways. Only lens I have to get close enough is the 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM. I hate it, especially with the low light that was there, but it's all I got. I edited these few that came out somewhat decent.

Any suggestiong for a new zoom lens? I'd really love to take nice shots of her at future ballets along with those shots I take at the airfield on base.

new lens for indoors things from far away, go for the 70-200mm 2.8 (if you have the money, get the L from canon instead of sigma, and if you really have money, get the IS, it's wonderful for stationary shots). i can't tell you if you'll be able to get enough reach for airplanes from too far away, but if you are on the base, ide assume you are in distance for the 70-200 (you might want to think about 1.4x II or the 2x II if you know you can't get close enough)

Hmm I'm not sure. I know that the Airfield pics were mostly shot at 300MM. So I think I would want 300MM or more. I'll look into those 200MM ones though, thanks :)
