Hi All,
I have bought an IXUS 300 and I'm very happy with the camera. However, if I had known how poor the Twain drivers are I would have bought a different camera. I have never rebooted my PC so often before.

A simple thing like managing disconnection and reconnection of my IXUS from the USB port hangs the download software.

The software is junk and ruins an otherwise fine product.

Peeved.

Hmmmm.....

I haven't had any problems with the Twain drivers or even with Zoom Browser. I use a Pentium III, Win98SE and have a lot of RAM (384MB).

Just my observations...

I havent had any trouble with it either other than I dont like zoombrowser. The twain works fine. In fact it works for both my D30 and Pro90. I use the Breeze downloader and convert with Canons converter or Breezebrowser. I have a PIII 500 with 644megs ram.

I've had no trouble either with the Canon software, in fact i think it's pretty damn good. Never crashed while running it, either on my Mac OS9.2 G4 or my Mac OS9.1 iMac.

Peeved, I won?t comment on the Canon software because I?ve never used it. I have an S110 and love it to death. The form factor is an absolute dream.

Anyway, why bother with cables? Just get yourself a CF reader and go to town. It?s a way better solution, in my opinion. The convenience of the CF reader system is unbelieveable.
