Very nice photos and shows just how good that Sigma lense is.
Of course, I would say that as I have the same lense :). Manages to cover everything I do apart from landscape shots and I use the Sigma 17-35mm f2.8-4 EX ASP HSM for those jobs.
Great value lense.

Hi,
Is it the new macro len from Sigma? Or the old model?
Also why the camera model says it is D30?
Thanks!

Wolfgang, very nice shots!
No. 4 is an interesting shot. Apparently, you used the central focus with D30, but the fence sticks closer to you seem to have a sharper image than those at the center. Such a fence would provide a perfect autofocusing test for 10Ds. But I never heard of D30 with a front focusing problem!

Very interesting examples.I'm abit of a affecianado of the subtleties of lenses and ,when i allow for the D30 smooth/oversaturated look, i get....typical sigma....
Very 'clean',clear, low saturation and allways that subtle hint of unsharpness.
damn,it's a good lens for a superzoom.....!

Is anyone using this lens or other Sigma lenses on the 300D/Digital Rebel? I am considering this to replace the 18-55 for day to day use and my wife is concerned about compatibility. I know there were concerns with earlier Sigma lenses, but wondered about the latest versions and compatibility with the newer digital cameras.
Thanks for the time.

If you buy a new Sigma there should be no problem. It was Sigmas two years old or more and only specific models.

i was focusing to the left, then moved to the mittle, thats the reasen why this is not really sharp as the left one.
