This young Osprey was enjoying his catch on a rather small perch. He had already taken the head off and was doing a balancing act while he enjoyed the meal.

Great capture of a magnificent Osprey Keith. Good balancing with it's spread of the wings. Looks like a fish without it's head for it's meal. No wonder they are also called a fish hawk.

Good focus on the bird, detail is very good.

Wow, that's a super great shot!

I've shot a lot of ospreys with fish in its talon but I have yet so see, let alone photograph, one actually consuming the catch! Well done.

I really like the game birds shown with their prey! It kind of makes the whole thing work. Well done on these shots!

Great capture there Keith - guess I shouldn't have looked at it before dinner - I'm not that hungry anymore :)

C'mon, "WE" take the heads off when we eat fish, don't we... ;) ;)

Many thanks to all that have commented!

That is a difficult expossure to get with that bird because of the colours (as you would know) Keith and you`ve done a good job.

Wonderful shot Keith, perfect exposure and I like the way the sun shines through the wing.

Great capture, Keith. Exposure is dead on once more.

The osprey I saw with Dennis was enduring lots of begging from
crows and sea gulls - I can understand why yours went to that much trouble to be alone.

That's a very nice capture. It shows why this bird is sometimes called a fish hawk. Thanks for showing it.
