Hello
I am new to this forum and am enjoying my A70 Camera.
My computer is a PowerMac G3 running Mac OS 9.22
I noticed when installing the software that came with my camera
the installer has dumped perhaps 30 or more extensions in my system folder.
It seems this installer is using a shotgun approach and is installing EVERY extension for EVERY Canon camera.
As I cannot tell by looking at the extension descriptions which ones are required by the A70 and which ones are not.

Can any of you good people help me old or direct me as to where I can find this information.

Thank You

Well, it was some time since I migrated from OS 9 to OS X, but I recall the situation; it IS a nuisance!

My "solution" (which worked well for me) was to simplu open the Extensions" control panel (if that was what it was called...), inactivate (=uncheck) all extensions for cameras I didn´t own, and re-boot. In my case, I never had any problems with missing extensions after that, but if I had, it would have been easy to reactivate a few more extensions at a time until the problem went away.

BTW, if you plan to continue using OS 9, do you have FinderPop installed? It is a remarkable improvement to the whole user interface, and makes it FAR easier to navigate the hard disk. It´s the one software from OS 9 that I sorely miss on OS X; I suggest you get it before it is discontinued.

Good luck!
