I'm not really sure what to do with this picture, but I thought it was interesting. I thought maybe I'd expose it to other people's critiques as one last acid test before possibly deleting it. Thoughts?

To be honest it doesn't work too well. I'm left thinking 'so what?'. I dunno, I can see how you found it interesting but I think because the grass plays a central role here you shouldn't have it cropped out at the edges. Maybe if you could see more of the wall it might improve? Also the sunlight is too stark. Wait till the sun is hitting it from the side more.

Martin.

I see what you mean mpaul.
BTW- this isn't a picture of a wall. It's a picture of a sidewalk.

I think this shot could be better...

We don't really see the hardship these two plants have (lost in the sea of concrete and stomping feet all around). Perhaps back away a bit. Perhaps so far as to position the plant on a 1/3 line or intersection.

Lots of opportunity here. Perhaps even include some blurry passing feet?

Perhaps if the terracotta brick was perfectly centered like a picture frame and you pushed the colors, contrast and sharpening hard it would evolve the character stopbath is suggesting.
