tricky subjects for flash, Greenbottle and a new import to these isles a Rosemary Leaf beetle.

none that do it justice-will try again today, they are on the lavender beds at work. Their larvae from last year have destroyed one bed (I did warn the powers that be!). First noted in this country in 1994:

I like the 1st one RM - it looks quite difficult to photograph as it seems quite shiny ...

Great shots. I have not done much daylight insect macro this season. What apertures were you using?

Like the beetle :)
I've tried a few natural light flies recently and actually prefer flash shots.

quite a serious pest for gardeners but interesting challenge for photographers being dark and metallic. They dont move much but tend to have their heads buried in their food plant which itself moves easily with the slightest breeze.

Ahh. Oh well, they make a lovely and interesting photographic subject, hoping you can get some more shots of this beautiful looking bug!

Excellent work using daylight, I have not had much success either, will have to harder I guess.:D :D ;) :D :D
