Did you change the first one from your post in the other forum? It looks like you fixed it up a little :)
Good work, BTW.
Lighting is good except the harsh highlights in the last photo.

Yeah... I ended up correcting the BnW conversion and the background blur..
Good! It really did look like the girl was floating there :P Looks much better now.

Very nice photos, but poor use of selective color IMHO. Sel col should be used to draw attention to the main part of the photo, usually the bride or groom, not to show how clever the photograhper is. I see a lot of overuse of photoshop effects, but I like the graduated B&W photo. Use photoshop effects sparingly, and to make a point, not just for the fun of it. Great photos don't need anything, and often look better in B&W.

I like these. You did a great job. Did you do some skin smoothing in #3. I'd love to be able to shoot a bride with a complexion that clear.

i do agree with tim on the topic of selective color, for example number 2. but i really like it in numbers 1 and 4!

For a 1st or 5th wedding, you did a very good job.

There's a tiny bit of green reflected in the bottom of the white dress. Select that area (no need to be too fussy), go into saturation, change the drop down to green, and take it to -100.

I think these pictures are superb. I believe some of the negativity you're experiencing here is totally undeserved. Keep up the good work and they'll convert!

Nice shots and nice selections with your collages.
I personally don't like the selective colour in your first photo, and i do like selective colouring with flowers, but i think they are too bright - just pull your saturation down slightly and it won't be so "Out there".
Maybe some images are too over-photoshopped - the one with the large vingetting "Kiss" one i personally don't like with that photoshopping, put it in B&W and im sure it is beautiful just like that.
Your images are superb, but i think the photoshopping doesn't work in some of these shots...i learnt the hard way with photoshop - i know the program well so i LOVE to use it in my photo's but sometimes less is more :)

PS: Keep it up - your shots are brilliant and your poses very natural and cutesy :)

Hey Tim, I was concerned about that greenish glow so thanks... I'll try your suggestion.
2nd thought just desaturate the green tinged area, it's quicker, easier, and will look better.
My feedback might come accross as negative sometimes, mainly because i'm usually pretty busy, and I don't have time to make it nice. Hopefully it conveys some useful information.

While I agree with Tim. Sometimes its hard because the bride really wants lots of Color/BW pictures.

I do photos mostly in color for proofs, unless I really think a B&W would look good, or if I can't be bothered fixing the white ballance ;) For prints or album I do whatever effects are requested, though sometimes I override that with my own choice unless they object strongly.

I only override their choice if the color picture was crappy.

Great job. I like your color selections and the overall use of color. The first one looks like a magazine ad. Her flowers are absolutely beautiful.

Tim, even though I personally agree with you on the often abusive use of selective color.....its something that MANY brides LOVE! The fact of the matter is that if the clientele demands it then we have to choose whether or not making money takes precedence over remaining true to "our" art/personal preferences and feelings. I don't know the answer to that. I think it probably depends mostly on how much you depend on your photography income.

Sure, but you can do it well and still satisfy the customer.

Very nice photos!!!
What kind of time is involved editing the BW/color on the 1 st photo?

1 minute, once you know what you're doing. A few extra minutes to do it really well. My method is to use the magnetic lassoo to select the bits to stay in color, then tweak that with the regular lassoo. Control-J copies that to another layer, then use the channel mixer above the background layer to make the BG B&W. It takes less time to do that it has to write this post.
