i shot this back in november, been holding on to it for a rainy day. Our site got an exclusive press release that the car will be converted from Time Attack specs to Drifting specs for the D1 event in Las Vegas, so we ran this image with that announcement.

Do you know who's going to be driving the FD for the D1 event? I believe Alex Pfeiffer drove it for Time Attacks in the past but he also has the S2000.

I just answered my own question. Alex will be driving the FD. Looks like his seat was taken away in the S2000. Forgot to mention, nice shot of the FD.

yup, with Alex being a judge in the Formula D series, RS*R found a replacement in Tyler McQuarrie as their fulltime driver. Alex wrecked his personal car (turbocharged AE86, the same battle version one he campaigned through the first half of the 2004 FD and D1 season), and BRS decided this was the perfect time to take a step into the drifting world. I'm excited, as the only other widebody RX7 which is prepped for drift (the Rotary Power car Ross Petty was driving) was replaced by an RB26-powered S13.

D1 should be big :)

I think it's beautiful, personally!! JGTC style widebody, gangster color, more ponies than the Buddweiser Clydesdales... ;)

Sweet shot. I went to D1 last year, great event. This pic reminds me of the good old days when me & my buddies all had FDs. Shooting flames at night on the freeway was a good way to scare the crap outta people ;)
