I recently bought an S45 from Amazon, it had quite a large mark on the lens so I returned it and Amazon have sent a replacement. This one also has some marks on the lens.
The second element has quite a bit of what looks like specks of dust around the edge, and three crescent-shaped smudges - at the 2, 6 and 10 o'clock positions.
I know that the effect on image quality will be minimal, but it is still disappointing in a new camera - especially a Canon.
I would be interested to find out if anyone else has noticed similar lens defects - is this a common manufacturing fault?
