No wonder it made a kill. I think these spiders are fascinating, if not a little gruesome. Found another one today that had managed to tackle a bumble bee which I think was a pretty good effort.

Excellent shots, very nice looking Crab spider. They are exceptionally good at camouflaging themselves in order to capture prey. Well spotted, you nailed the exposure pretty well as well.

very nice shots here..............crab spiders are amazing little critters..... the fact they can change colour to suit the flower they are on makes them even more so

Thanks for all your comments. Alan, you are right that they are amazing. Good luck with your search Leorooster. In the UK they seem to be fairly loacalized as I have only ever seen them where I am living now. I will endeavour to post something other than crab spider next time...
