All three are great captures. I really like the grackle shot, even though I don't like grackles. Well done.

Nice shots, did you use the 200 or the 70-300?

If they gave out awards on this forum? You would win hands down for most improved photographer. Grackle is sharp and the water on it's beak adds to the shot. Warbler has excellent composition with environment, sweet light and he has the look. Great job Wayne!

Thanx alot Dude those are very kind words , I have to say getting the new gear and also spending alot of time in the field with Dancad , who in my opinion is one of the best on the forum and has taught me a ton about light , shutter speed and D.O.F and also to a lesser extent Gary Fairhead whom I see in the field quite abit , and who also is very approachable and an incredible source of info, so kudo's to those guys and there talents

Superdiver,,, all 3 shots were taken with the 200 f/2.8L, the sigma doesn't spend a whole lot of time on the cam

thanx to everyone else who took the time to comment

Lovely shots. All are fantastic. I really like the shot of the grackle. I see them so much, that I overlook them and your shot really made this one look great. The Yellow Warbler shot is also very nice. The coloring of the bird and folliage is such a nice combination. It's just a winner of a shot! Nice work.

Well I am glad to see you aren't wasting your lunch hour eating or anything like that;)

The first shot is nice with the ruffled feathers and deep green BG from the river.
The Grackle shot is wonderfully exposed and I like the contrast between bird and grey rocks as well as the drinking pose.

The Warbler in my opinion is a special shot with excellent light/exposure, great catchlight ,open beak and pose, great habitat and that exceptional 200 F2.8 bokeh:D You would have had to get pretty close to that very tiny bird so good job on your approach as well.

The Grackle looks quite mischievious in this shot. Nice photo showing off its true colours. The warbler shot is very nicely composed, and the slightly opened bill adds a nice touch of livelyness.

Also, thanks for the very nice words. Glad I made a positive impact on your photography...and birding too!
