I need some help!
Can someone please explain how to open up a RAW image (D30) in Photoshop (6.0).
I'm using a Mac G3.

I have gone thru the Canon software option...with no luck. I have used the import feature on Photoshop and the canon plug in software opens, but I can't get the program to see the RAW images.

Please Help!

Are your files on the camera or the computer. If they are on the computer you have to hit the computer button and negotiate your way to the file they are in. I am on PC so dont know how different your canon plugin is.

The navigation works fine ... but the file is not recognized.

Do I have to convert it into a tiff file before going into Photoshop?

Yes! You have to convert either to tiff or jpeg. I'm not on a Mac either but if you're using Zoombrowser (or whatever you're transferring your files onto your Mac with), you should be able to do a conversion from RAW into one of those formats (readable by Photoshop) with that software. Once your file is converted, Photoshop will read it. Photoshop does not recognize Canon RAW files as a format.

No, you don't have to convert the Raw files to load into Photoshop. Canon's Image Browser in horrible.
Just use the Import file in Photoshop. (assuming you've loaded the plug-in)
When the thumbnail contact sheet comes up, the images that were
shot RAW, are labeled Raw, and I just double-click and they download. I'm on a G3 and it works just fine.
Good luck.

Just to be technically correct, you are still converting the raw file with the plug-in, you're just doing within PS.

Now isn't that neat. I didn't know you could do that. Just tried it and it works great. Thanks for that tip! ;)

Oh, and it's significantly faster than Breezebrowser when previewing and tweaking the parameters!!! Fantastic!

I am another mac user. I use a Ibook with PS 6 and OS 9.1

I have downloaded the new 1d plugin, installed it, then copied the plug-in file to the Import/export folder of the plugin folder within PS6. When I load PS6 I see the plug in. However, when I use it I get an error message saying. "error loading the plug in"

I have deleted and reinstalled this thing like 4 times... still the same thing.

Can someone please get this thing to work for me?

Thanks in advance
Chris

PS I shoot on a D30
