Hi,
I just bought a canon S3 and canon lens adaptor LAH-DC20. I can put on the adaptor to camera, but it seems not tight enough. There is some room the adaptor can move round the camera (not much, a little).
Is this normal? Does anyone have the same issue?
Thanks a lot!

don't have an S3, but the Canon adapter for the S2 did the same thing. DIdn't seem to affect things, but I got a lensmate adapter later on anyway - very snug fit.

Thanks Nancy. I will order lensmate adaptor and return the Canon one.
I just do not understand how could Canon make lower quality product like this. It is a big disappoint.

I don't know that it's low quality, exactly - but it might have something to do with it's being made of plastic. The lensmateonline adaptors are aluminium. Might have something to do with how metal fits next to plastic, or some such thing. But I do prefer the metal one.

i have the lens mate for my s2, and there is the slightest amount of play, however, it has zero effect on the picture quality--it has no vertical or horizontal movement, but the slightest play in a twisting motion--I don't and never have thought it to be a problem though--I like the alluminum but I think the play is just a result of the type of mount that it has, which is neight lensmates or canon's (adapter) fault--the threads (if you will) on the camera are big and invite a little play--if they were slimmer (like on eos lenses) there room be les room for play.

Hi Guys,
OK this is my first post . . hope it doesn't rock the boat too much.
I bought an S3 IS as my first real camera to get into photography.
I've seen (but not tried) both the lensmate and canon lens adaptors.
but I actually found a good one on ebay! (don't shoot me!)
link (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Canon-Lens-Adaptor-58mm-UV-Hood-Cap-for-Powershot-S3-IS_W0QQitemZ7627160068QQcategoryZ30066QQtcZphotoQQ cmdZViewItem)
During reading this forum I've seen a few examples of people saying not to buy from ebay and to stick to the OEM stuff. Whist I know that in many instances this is true, its not always the best way. Looking above dxin seems to be a little unhappy with the OEM Canon adapter.
I have actually purchased 2 of the adapters for which I have provided the link for use with different filters. From what I understand (and correct me if I am ignorant  ) there are 2 important aspects for a good lens adapter.
1. Snug fit (mine is great, but it does rotate fractionally but this seems normal)
2. Minimal internal reflection (especially true if going for a 58mm adapter on the S3/S2)
In both aspects I feel the one on ebay is excellent, with the added advantage of including a UV filter and lens hood . . all for under £15 delivered is great news to me!
I must admit I am a true novice and i may be completely wrong
but just thought I'd throw in my 2 pence and say Hi and thanks for all the usefull advice at the same time

I also bought an adaptor from a US ebay seller. Can not complain one bit...very happy with the quality of the item. Would love to compare it to the lensmate adaptor one day to see how big a difference there is. The one I got from ebay is aluminium 52mm and fits snug as a bug...no complaints here :)
