O-kay,. this could be symantics,. or I could have a curious dud. The literature for the EP-EX15 Eye peice extender states that;

"...the magnification will be increased by a factor of 0.5"

To me that means that it will increase the magnifiction?

I swear I have read many posts from those who use it because it is easier to see focus because it INCREASES magnification.

BUT Mathematically multiplying by 0.5X will in fact REDUCE the image magnification...

...to INCREASE you need to multiply by 1.5X

Well,... you guessed it,. mine DECREASES magnification by about 50%,.. or 0.5 :(

So why does anyone get this?
And why recomend it?

Or is mine really defective?

Before posting be sure to actually check to see of yours increases or reduces magnification :D

Thanks.

I borrowed one from another person last Sunday and yes, it really decrease the magnification so I can see the whole viewfinder, which is not possible without as I wear specticles.

0.5x magnification factor really means it reduces the magnifications by half. :)

I am looking forward to get one myself soon.

I am in the same boat, I would like to sell mine (just ordered it less than 2 weeks ago).

The .5 multiplier is incorrectly printed as an increase in magnification, when in fact it is a decrease in magnification (CANON should be made aware of this).

Would it not be ideal for an eyepiece extender to provide the same magnification?
