Hello all
Is it possible for the 20d to send a picture direct to my laptop right after it is taken?
I would like to take the pic, review in PS, edit as needed and then send to a printer as quickly as possible without having to pull the card after each shot.

You can use EOS Capture to shoot images directly to your laptop.

And you can set the 20D to shoot with no card....

Do you have to set this in the 20D ?
I set my 10D through the custom functions, not to shoot when the CF card is missing... But... using the Canon capture utility, it will take pictures and send them to my laptop with no CF card in place... I think once the camera and computer are communicating, the camera no longer cares about having a CF card in place.

Thanks all for the help
I set up last night and it works great
On the 20D I did not disable or remove the card and it only sent the pics to my laptop

Haven't pulled out the manual yet this early on a Sat morn, so excuse the Q. that is probably in the manual, but:
HOw far can you be from the computer to use this feature on the 30D?
Thanks!

As long as your USB cable will reach.

When I do photography on a white background, I always connect my 20D via USB and after taking 20 or so pics, I just go into the 20D folder and transfer them onto my PC, review them, make adjustments and take more pics.

Would be pretty cool if it was Bluetooth.

Would be pretty cool if it was Bluetooth.Nah, then it would be slow, considering the camera is USB 2.0. 802.11G WiFi would be reasonable though :)
