Are you rocking an LCD or a CRT?

Funny you should ask. I just got a DELL 510 with a 19 inch LCD and I do feel completely spoiled. It's so useful for editing.

I've been a CRT guy forever and was reluctant to switch, mainly due to the fact that LCD screens have a lower native resolution for a given physical size and it just wasn't ever enough pixels for me.
But finally, once the LCD resolutions reached 1920 pixels wide, I made the switch. Here it is, beside my 15.4" widescreen laptop:
The funky 24" screen... (http://yoonl.brinkster.net/misc/img_8305.jpg)

It's cheaper to get a decent CRT for graphics.
On the other hand NEC had come up with diode backlit LCD which covers 99% of the AdobeRGB gamut and has completely uniform lighting across the surface. But they run for 2-3 grand depending on the model.
On the CRT spectrum you have the Sony Artisan which comes with a colorimeter and is self calibrating for 1500-1700 USD. That baby is REALLY cool too.
It all depends on what your needs are.

My main monitor is a NEC AccuSync 200VX.
20 inches, very easy to look at at high light levels
1600*1200 resolution and very large viewing angles
The second one is a Samsung Sync master which I use to preview the pictures for printing

The reason I asked, is because apparantly, Im having huge problems with my LCD, Apple 20", my prints are all coming out WAY TOO dark.....
After reserching, CRT is the best for editing!!!!....So now I have to sell my LCD and get two CRTs.

Did you calibrate it? Are your color profiles accurate?
I you do not HAVE to sell both of them - you only need one of the monitors to be calibrated. The other one can be used for text or photoshop palettes. LCDs are better for text and web browsing... and do not emit radiation.

I have 2 20" Dell 2001FP's. I really would like one of those widescreens that could do 1920X1200 to go between them.

I just picked up the Dell Ultrasharp 2007WFP [20.1") I'm really happy with it. I struggled with whether or not I should order it [Lots of folk complaining about banding] - Mine is great - no problems that I've found - image editing, gaming, web browsing. . .etc. . .
Editing images is a dream now!

Finally a decent sized image in Photoshop too [a little bigger than a sheet of paper - image size that is :D]

Out of the factory colors were pretty accurate - I can barely see a difference between uncalibrated and calibrated with the Pantone Huey.

I just got my new Dell 24" Wide Aspect Flat Panel LCD Monitor. OMG it has blown me away. It is the ultra sharp model and although it wasn't cheap, my eyes are thanking me immensely!!!
