where can I download a 10D manual? I want to compare features with the Rebel to see what I would be missing. Weight is important to me. I think the 10D may be too heavy.
Does mounting the 70-300 mm IS lens "balance" the carrying angle when you have it around your neck, or is it still hanging down and banging around?

For a comparison between the 300D and the 10D, see the reviews of the 300D and 10D on http://www.dpreview.com

The 10D is a heavy camera. The Rebel G is not quite as heavy, but if you're going to be putting heavy lenses like the 75-300 on it, the combination will be quite a load around your neck no matter which body you use.
I tried the 75-300 IS on the 10D and it definitely hangs 'nose-down.' As for 'banging around,' I don't know how to avoid that with any camera/lens combination unless you use one of those halter devices that essentially strap the camera to your chest.
The smallest lens I own is the 50mm f/1.4, and with that on the body, it doesn't tip forward very much when hanging on the strap.
