I've taken regular snap shots with my P&S of people with fairly dark skin. Many times the face turned fairly dark. I've taken a few shots with my DSLR of a couple of girls with darker skin, but does anyone have any good advice how to get a good exposure on dark(er) skin?

Anyone?
I've been wondering about this as well. And what about when you're photographing two people and one is darker complected than the other?

I'm gonna give this question another try as I'm interested to get some good tips. The couple I'm photographing (wedding) in Aug both have darker complexions. She's also aiming to get a nice tan. He's of Indian descent, so fairly dark. He looks kinda like the guy playing Sayid on "Lost".
She'll be wearing a white wedding dress, and he'll wear a light beige suit. Photos will be outdoors.Any good tips?

I just did a wedding like this. I set custom WB off a grey card. and exposed for the white dress. Not as dramatic as African features, but it will work.
I had to lighten his face quite a bit, as he works outdoors and is very tan.

The dark skin against a white wedding dress will be a challenge. Playing with the gamma during post-processing may be needed.
Earlier this week we had an African-American model, a regular retouching client, who noted that we had made her skin too light in one image. We adjusted the gamma and she was happy.

The bride's complexions are not African, she's caucasian, but leaning towards latino a bit.
Should I expose for the clothes or faces, and would it be his face as he's darker?

Ideally I will, if time permits, use a light meter and shoot in Raw.

I will be doing my first African-American model next weekend. Any tips?
