Very first photo with Canon Rebel XT

Am now up to over 150 photos. Only about 10% are usable and even less that I really really like. But this one I am proud of, even with the obvious mistakes (should crop more onto the flower itself).

I like the shot - I also agree that it could maybe be cropped to more focus on the flower. Still, nice shot! Hope you enjoy "learning" and "playing" with your camera as much as I am!

I agree with you Al... Very addictive. I also like the shot. Nice capture of light and shadows.

Here's a suggestion for a crop.

Thanks guys. Especially the crop off center. I still tend to focus on the center and not on the "rule of thirds." Have had a lot of beach shots messed up that way (centered horizon, etc).
