Perhaps I will, but not too likely, as I'm not printing directly to my PictBridge compatible printer (that I don't have.)

There's not even any bug fixes (is there any bug fixes needed?) to make it worth while.

Ohh. I would like them to add a few features like hyperfocal distance when manually focusing! This would be so nice. Since the camera knows the focal distance of the lens, the aperture, and the focus distance, it can easily calculate the range of sharpness and just add that to the distance scale.
That, I would download without delay!

I agree with you stopbath, jus add some PictBridge feature on it, I don't have a direct print printer, therefore there's no need of updating the firmware.

May be they can fix the focusing system and the CCD (if the can do it with upgrading the firmware) to make the picture sharper and eliminate the 'bubble' syndrom on the picture taken if the camera face a bright source at low light eg in indoor condition!

I've updated my S50 a couple of days ago without any problem. Probably I'll never use PictBridge (I don't have a pictbridge printer, and I only shoot RAW), but some strange force always convinces me to do such potentially risky operations :)

I looked at the information to see if I should update my S45. To my surprise it seems the S45 is not listed as needing this update. Does that mean Canon is not going to further support the S45 with firmware updates? Or is this change only for S50?

Apparently Canon is updating only 2003 models. It's a shame, because two of the most popular 4MP models (the S45 and the G3) are 2002 ones, and I think they will be a lot of people very unhappy.
