Could someone tell me what is the best way for adjusting the image with the Curve option(Image..Adjustment..Curve) in PhotoShop.
Do you just fool around the top and bottom part of the line to get the right image that pleases your eye, or there is a method to it.

Start with gentle s bend, or, start with a gentle shallow or hump. Other shaps can be used too (m, w, backwards s, sinewave, sawtooth, heart pulse... :))

Really there is no set rules, but the best guide line I've heard is "go easy on it."

The final shape of the line depends on the original image qualities, and the end results that you want. For example the s bend will raise contrast, and hump will brighten the mid tones. Play around with different line shapes and see how things look. When unsure, use tiny or gradual line changes (not sudden changes unless you're accenting something.)

You can make interesting solarization (false colours) with curves.

Let your eyes be your judge.

http://www.gurusnetwork.com/tutorials/photoshop/curves1.html is a good explanation of curves.
