G5 delay

My G5 has now developed a 6-7 second delay to shoot after I press the button half way down can anyone help?:cry:

Perhaps the self-timer option is activated.
Read pg 70 and 158 of the G5 user’s guide. You can turn the self-timer on or off and use the menu to set the delay from 2 to 10 seconds.

What do you mean by "press the button half way down"?

Half way is just for focusing.........then you either hold the focus or push all the way down to snap the picture.
