Omar's my son, and he's a tough subject! He never ever stands still, so this picture was 50% planned, and 50% luck.
But I really want you to critcize the "planning" part..
Thanks in advance.

Well I like this little guy. He does look curious as to what Dad wants next. The color feels a tad undersaturated and this is accentuated by the soft focus and limited sharpening. The light seems to be OK but not stunning. Here, as the face is turned away from the sun, shadows are not an issue at this level of contrast. But, add same and yellow and the face may be a bit hidden. The framing seems fine.
On close, a kid is a kid and I suspect that if you try again you will get him in a more impromtu pose. I'd like to see him halfway thru his next birthday party because there realy is not a lot to look at here.
Nice shot

the apprehensive look, what is Dad doing? a fill in flash would help to balance the shadows across the face.
I can only echo the previous critique, a more natural pose could be achieved after the your son has become use to being followed by his dad and his camera.
Nice one
