Hello all,
My girlfriend was the recepient of a new G3 as her birthday present, (me good boyfriend!). During a recent trip to France, Giverny of all places, her battery was running low and she began to have hear some crackling noises that seem to come from the speaker / lens area. Soon after, the flash would only work as though it was in the red-eye reduction mode (slight curtain /burst of light, but no BIG flash). Another problem is that
it will not do a system reset ( or reset to defaults). Is there something
fried with the flash mechanism. I know that the flash is one gripe that
people have with the G3, but it seems like it might be toasted on this camera. We have tried different settings, modes, batteries, etc.
Has anyone had this happen to them? if so, what steps did you take to
fix it? Do I have to send it out for warranty service already?
