New Lens opinions

Anybody have an opinion on the new Canon EF 55-200 mm f/4.5-5.6 II USM? How does it compare to the earlier (non- II) version?

I don't have any opinion yet, but I don't assume there are masses of people buying it at the moment.

Maybe you should also compare the lens to (used) Canon standard (non-L) zoom lenses like the 70-200 IS or 75-300 IS that *might* be available used at competitive prices from users selling their analogue equipment.
