Looks good to me, I really like the mood in this shot.
I notice that there seems to be a grey square over the shot, but it isn't extending al the way to the edge of the picture. I can see the line along the bottom and left.
Might try it in B&W to see what that looks like.

This makes me think of a homeless man or a squatter doing his best to look for work. It makes me feel pity.

I like the shot very much.
The quality of light is very good. The overall composition is excellent. I really like the tonal range. But what I really really like is the softness of the colors. Not exactly desaturated, as they seem to have a slight luster to them, but still, muted.
I would be very interested in knowing what technique you used to post process.
Very well done.

I would prefer it if the room's lighting appeared more natural...it looks like it was flashed. Otherwise, looks fine, and it does draw an emotional response, which is good. I'd hate to live that way. Colors appear faded, adding to the effect of hard times, old, worn furniture, dirty, plain walls, etc.

Thanks to you all for your replies and critiques
The room in which this was taken was in almost complete darkness so the on board flash had to be used to illuminate all that area.
Afterwards I know there was an adjustment in levels in selected/ foreground areas plus a bit of straightening. I normally forget what I do to in post processing but there was not anything too major.
I have not tried this in B/W but to do so I feel that any subtleties that might be in the image could be lost.
Thanks again everyone.

I was curious to see how it would actually look in b+w.
I desaturated the picture then adjusted the levels and curves.
There are countless conversions that you can do; this is my idea though.
