I thought this might be an interesting topic for members to have a forum wishlist. I'll start.........

I'd like to click on an avatar, go to that persons profile and click a link to see thumbnails of all the images currently hosted by the forum of that member.

Interesting. Perhaps instead, they could make it a link to your forum username: "View Gallery" under "View Public Profile".

I'd like to see a related threads section appear at the bottom of a thread. This will link to 4 or 5 other threads dicussing the same/similar topics.

Would be nice to be able to see everyones shots with a simple click but for those of us who host images off POTN you would see nothing!

For those of you that would like to see a POTN gallery see my sig. Basically every time it is clicked POTN runs a search in the Photo Sharing sections (or whatever sections the search is defined to run). This won't show all the pics but at least the threads that I started in the defined forums.

http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=160750

This thread shows how to do it.

How about a 'kiss' icon in the bit bottom left that indicates if a member is interested in 'romance' with another member? The kiss plus an IM icon would be a wonderful way to make a date.

Not for me, but at least three of my very favourite people here deserve to find true love. Pekka and CDS could be bridesmaids at last (tho' either could also feature the kiss icon - I dunno them well enough to know if they would need or appreciate the service!)

It could be extended to include a smile icon for people who are interested in meeting up for friendly shooting sessions, rather than for romance. You could have a kiss and a smile if you ideally want some romantic shooting orientated date :-)

I would like a 'Mark Forums Read' button that works on a single forum rather than all forums. Sometimes I may only have a couple minutes to visit, and I would like to clear each forum individually.Have Fun,

It'd be great if when you went to "New Topics" it wasn't limited to 17 pages. I'd like to see ALL the new topics and not have some/a lot be left out.

You know what I would like to see, and that is gallery section, a way of listing all the new topics as a gallery, showing a thumb nail of the images in the post. regardless if they are hosted on this site or not.

Or if that's just to hard, then it would be good to see just new posts just for the gallery section.

I'm willing to settle for a list like we have in our attachment management CP.

I'd like to see a "New Replies to Your Posts" feature. They have this on Photocamel, and it's kind of nice.

With all the activity in the Member Activity section, it would be nice to have a calendar feature that could be opened to see all the activities on a certain day. Its sometimes hard to sort through all the posts in that area to find what's going on. A link in the calendar could take you to the post about that particular activity.

That is a good idea. And the software does support calendars so if enough are interested it might become available as long as it does not require a lot of administration by Pekka to do it.

Lets hear other opinions on it.

"Thread tools: Subscribe to this thread" do for you?

No, not really. It would take too long to manually add them. I post quite a lot.

But You don't have to. In Your profile select the option to subscribe without email as the default. Then all threads You describe to with new posts will be listed in the usercp.

This is a good thread.

Since the new implementation of "locking" a thread once an item is sold or bought, it would be good to have one of the search parameters "exclude" all locked threads so that i can just browse through available items without seeing the sold items.

Its just sometimes you see the title and in the excitement go through the whole thread before realising it's been sold

I just laughed a lot. Thanks for making me laugh before going off to bed. I kinda find the idea very cute, but unfortunately I don't think Pekka would go for it. The smile icon though would be nice.

Ok ladies ... let's scratch the 'kissy romance' icon and just go for the 'friendly shooting meet up smilie' icon. Hey, after all, shooting together is potentially a great way to find romance as well as new buddies. Why rush into things? Slow down.

I wish when you voted on a poll it would bump it up in the new posts. It looks like only posts will keep it on the list even though the poll may be quite active? It would then show up in your CP when someone voted too.

How about an icon that reported people whose sigs are significanly longer than their posts?

And a smiley to indicate irony? ;)
