View Full Version : A70, Wrong filenumber

I have had my A70 for about 2 months, and haven't really had a look at how many pictures I had taken, but I jumped when I saw I had taken almost 6000...so I looked back, and saw that a few days earlier, I had taken less than 1000.
I have 2 memorycards, first the card that came with the camera, and then a Lexar 128mb card, and I switch between these.
Can this affect the filenumbers, or what can the problem be??

It's not a big problem, but I'm very interrested in what could have caused it.

Thanks / Matz

Sorry Matrad...too easy to be the solution :)
I have read the manual, and I have the setting to off, but the problem is that the numbers jumped, a bit over 5000 pictures, and I want to know why.

I take it that since you bought the camera, you've only shot about 1000 images, but your file number is now 6000?

Can you locate the spot where the file numbers jump?

What is the full name? At 6000 you should have 160-6000. The 160 means the 60th directory of 100 photos that the camera made. Is it instead 110-6000?

Did anything happen between the good numbered file and the jump numbered file?

Has it been jumping several times? skipping numbers every so often.

I have no idea why it happened, but perhaps something in the pictures might show why. Or trigger a memory of something happening.

Perhaps you can set the file number using ZoomBrowser? (I've never tried so I don't know, but it seems like an option that could be used.)

I'm at work now, and the last picture that is correct I have on this computer is 106_0639...4 days later, it's 155_5525.
Maybe it just jumped a "few" folders on my CF-card.
I have probably got a load of empty folders between.
Can I check this with a cardreader, or isn't it something you can really check??

Thanks for the quick reply btw.
